NEW WORK IN OLD STRUCTURES

The event was held in the exclusive Soho House in Berlin where the attendees listened to a keynote presentation from Judith Borgmann with the topic “New Work in Old Strucures”. Judith is a Senior Consultant at MHP – A Porsche Company and provided valuable insights into new working methods and technologies. She also highlighted the challenges that companies have to face: Digitalisation, War for Talents and Generation Y & Z. New Work breaks up old habits and changes established structures. Not everyone feels comfortable with these new uncertainties but for Judith one thing is certain:

Companies must adapt to the mindset of future generations. Flexibility, innovation and diversity are in demand.

KEY AREAS THAT WILL BE CHANGED BY NEW WORK

New Work is a concept that summarises all the changes and opportunities that affect the world of work today and in the future. Judith addressed four key areas and provided the guests with examples of how New Work will change these areas long term:

CULTURE & PEOPLE – enabling employees to develop along their strengths and needs.

ORGANISATION & STRUCTURE – Adapting business processes to the conditions of a complex world.

TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY – Using digitisation for the positive change of the working world.

SPACES & ENVIRONMENT – Create workspace to bring people, technology and issues together.

After the keynote there was a very open and constructive exchange where own experiences and ideas were discussed of how New Work can make a lasting difference to everyone’s working lives.
